There are always open positions for interested postgraduate candidates throughout the year. However, only some positions are offered with funding support, e.g., monthly stipend. These positions are often tied up to ongoing research/consultation grants.

Open Funded Positions

1. Funded by the Ministry of Higher Education’s Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS)

   • Project Title: A periodicity-agnostic method for detecting parasitic botnets in Distributed Hash Table-based Peer-to-Peer networks
   • Requirements:
     • Enrolment into a full-time MSc/PhD (Research) programme
     • Academic degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Computer Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent

   • Funding Details:
     • Stipend of up to RM 2,500/month for 36 months (depending on MSc/PhD candidate)
     • Funding begins from September 2021 - August 2024

2. Funded by the Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Short Term Grant (STG)

   • Project Title: An advanced network manipulation method to (re)establish Peer-to-Peer botnet overlays within isolated Internet emulation testbeds
   • Requirements:
     • Enrolment into a full-time MSc (Research) programme
     • Academic degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent

   • Funding Details:
     • Stipend of up to RM 1,100/month for 24 months
     • Funding begins from *September 2021 - August 2023
